Health services adapted to their needs, customs and beliefs are the demand of the Fulani community of Bamenda. On November 15, 2002, a group of five Fulani leaders, including the Imam of the Central Mosque of Bamenda, the Sarkhi of the old town and staff, arrived at the offices of the North West Regional Delegation of Public Health to ask for special attention and health services for the Fulani community. Fulani community is considered as a special people who have wise health care. They live mainly in the popular area called the Old Town in the Ntambag health zone of the Bamenda health district. The Ntambag health centre has a population of 18,353. It is still housed in a rented building that does not meet the required norms and standards and has outdated medical equipment.
