This is the focus of this year’s 10th edition of the International First Film Week festival to be held in Yaounde.

From January 14 to the 21st of the same month, the International First Film Week festival will be at its 10th edition. This year’s event has decided to focus on women working in cinema.

The roles of women range from actress to director, screenwriter, producer and critic. The matter, however, is: how does the cinema contribute to the emancipation of women and to the fight against discrimination? The challenges and opportunities facing female filmmakers will also be discussed in the debates that will take place during the festival.

The festival will take place on the esplanade of the Yaounde city hall. Activities will also include screening Cameroonian and African films on various themes, which will also compete.
