The film actor died last Sunday, 9 June 2024 in Yaounde after a long illness.

Cameroon lost one of its prominent sons in the cinema field this weekend. Otia Suh Vitalis passed away last Sunday. This marked the end of a 20-year career that began in 2006. The film in which he appeared that year was entitiled Facing Destiny. His success in this film led to his appearing in more than 50 films and series, including Bad Angel, Saving Mbango, Hidden Dreams, A dead man’s wish and Broken (on Netflix).

Viewer have praised his authenticity and emotional depth as an actor. Many say this ability was influenced by his roots and cultural background from the Menchum Valley in the North West region.

Aside from acting, he was also known for founding and chairing the Red Feather Awards eight years ago and pioneering the Cameroon Film Industry Board. He has used these platforms to guide actors and has been a mentor to many.
