About seven detained CRM supporters sentenced to two years imprisonment

Some seven supporters of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement party (CRM) arrested in the course of the September 22 protest marches have been sentenced to two years imprisonment by the Mfou Court of First Instance in the Centre region.

After spending a year in jail without judgement, they are left with one year to be free.

Cameroon: Police officer allegedly shots dead seven-year-old in Bamenda

A seven-year-old girl identified as Brandy Tataw is reported to have been shot dead this Friday November 12 in Bamenda, capital city of the restive North West region of Cameroon.

Sources say the little girl was returning back from school when she got trapped in an altercation between a police officer and a running vehicle around New Road Nkwen. The police officer is said to have fired shots at the running vehicle but unfortunately missed his target and it hit the pupil.

Cameroon successfully conducts first kidney transplant operation

Cameroon on Wednesday November 10 conducted the first-ever kidney transplant operation on a 34-year-old man at the Yaounde General Hospital.

Officials of the hospital have revealed that the operation was a success. The patient, identified as Bertrand Balogu was transferred kidney donated by his brother, Yves Balogu.

Cameroon is in the top 16 of the most attractive countries for investors in Africa. According to the classification done by the Deloitte Firm and the Africa CEO Foru, the Central African country is at the 16th spot.
Occupying the top 5 spots according to the ranking are Ivory Coast, Kenya, Ghana, Senegal, and Rwanda respectively.
On the 50th spot, as the least attractive country for investors according to the rankings are; Comoros Islands, Lesotho, Eritrea, and Burundi.

Cameroon: Pastor injured in Bali church shootings says military responsible

Rev. Voma Simon, pastor injured when unidentified gunmen rained bullets at the Presbyterian Church Ntafoang in Bali, North West region of Cameroon killing one Christian during mass last August 22 has accused the military of committing the act.

The Rev who is still recovering from the injury made the declaration in a message to his Christians read by elder Tafrey Patrick, Presbytery Chairman for Bali during church service Sunday October 17 at PC   Ntafoang where the shootings took place.

After the incident last October 22, the Government and separatist fighters had accused each other.

Cameroon: Protests rock Buea after soldier shoots open skull of kid going to school

Reports from Buea, in the restive South West region of Cameroon have it that the population is protesting in some neigbourhoods, the shooting to death of a three-year-old school-going kid by a gendarme officer early this Thursday October 14, near the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral in Molyko as her parent were drove her to school.

This comes after the population mad at what happened beat the said gendarme to death, then marched to the Governors office with the child’s body.

Two suspected scammers accused of having swindled money from some Cameroonians claiming to be from the national biometric centre for the production of passports have arrested and presented to the public.
Ngwa Eugen and Ngeufack Awoukeng created fake Facebook accounts with the logo of the Delegate General of National Security.
Eugene Nyambi is said to have swindled FCFA 1 220 800 meanwhile Wilfried Ngeufack defrauded FCFA 376 500 from his victims.

The Prime Minister Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute has arrived Bamenda in the restive North West region of Cameroon this Tuesday October 5 on a four-day working visit to evaluate the level of implementation of the recommendations of the Major National Dialogue held two years ago.

Four persons arrested and charged with the murder of pupils by shooting at the Mother Francisca International Bilingual Academy in Kumba, South West region of Cameroon last year will be be executed by firing squad.

Four persons arrested and charged with the murder of pupils by shooting at the Mother Francisca International Bilingual Academy in Kumba, South West region of Cameroon last year will be be executed by firing squad.

The judgement was passed Tuesday September 7 by the Buea Military Tribunal where they were standing trial for acts of terrorism, hostility against the father land, secession, Insurrection, murder and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

A pregnant woman has lost her life at the St. Paul Hospital, Nylon in Cameroon’s economic capital Douala following alleged negligence by medical staff.

Reports have it that she got to the hospital Sunday September 5 having complications and died after because no doctor was available to attend to her.
