The President of the Republic has just issued a decree extending the weekend.

The public had been waiting for this information since the beginning of the week. The President of the Republic has just signed a decree declaring Monday August 14, 2023 a public holiday throughout Cameroon.

One must remember that this decision has been made because of the celebration of the Assumption of the Mary, which is celebrated every year on August 15 by Catholic Christians. This celebration marks the Assumption of the Virgin Mary to the glory of her son Jesus Christ.

The weekend, which begins this Friday, 11 August 2023, promises to be long and, above all, festive for Catholic Christians. It will last until next Tuesday. Work will resume on Wednesday 16 August for a three-day week.
