The Director of Elections just published the voter registration statistics at the end of the 2023 revision procedure.

The 2023 regional statistics of voting registrations are now available. They were published in a press release on January 10, 2024 by the Elections Director, Erik Essousse. According to him, the national electoral list contains a total number of 7,361,875 voters. 3,429,025 of them are women and 3,932,850 are men. This figure was obtained at the end of the revision process of the electoral list, which took place from January 01 to August 31, 2023. It represents the total number of those registered to vote in the 10 regions.

The Centre region for instance has the highest number of voters with 1,303,376, according to the press release. The Far North and the Littoral are the next most populous areas in the country, at 11.193.542 and 11.122.338 respectively. The West region comes fourth with 839,687 voters. At the last place is the South region with 299,076 voters. In addition, 18,937 Cameroonians living abroad were also registered.

The statistics on registration for 2023 are being published at a time when the revision for 2024 has just been launched. At the end of this session, Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) aims to reach the milestone of more than 7,500,000 voters.
