Minister Nganou Djoumessi announced new measures during a meeting he chaired yesterday, February 14, 2024.

The 60 km road linking Kumba to Ekondo Titi in the South West Region is now under the supervision of the soldiers of the Rapid Intervention Bataillon. The construction project, which began in 2017, is part of the country’s emergency plan. It is part of the Loum-Kumba-Ekondo Titi-Mundemba-Akwa-Nigeria border road.

For several years, it has suffered some interruptions due to the ongoing security crisis in the South West region. A conclusion underlined when reviewing the road’s construction progress.

Aware of the importance of the project, the Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, who chaired an evaluation meeting last February 14, underlined the need for a resumption and acceleration of the project. He said that paving work would continue. Work costs are estimated to be 40.601.372.000 CFA Francs.
