In a press release dated 22 January 2024, Chriss Eddie Fouejeu Kendio announced his support for the political alliance for change.

Chriss Eddie Fouejeu Kendio, former National Steering Committee member of the Cameroon Party for National Reconciliation (CPNR), has joined the movement dubbed Alliance for Change (APC). This movement, as its initiators describe it, is a coalition of political parties, civil society organisations, religious and traditional figures, academics and others. Their aim is to support the candidacy of Maurice Kamto, president of the Cameroon Renaisance Movement (CRM), in the presidential elections scheduled for 2025.

In his resignation letter , the new APC member said he was “motivated by political change (…) a source of change for our people”. He wishes to remain faithful to the principles that guide his political action. There are several reasons for his departure from the CPNR. According to him, “on the eve of the crucial deadline, the main political actors still do not seem to be mobilised behind a common objective”, that of uniting for change. The resigning member also deplores the “spirit of distraction and division” that has taken root in the party, which was founded by Robert Kona and Albert Fleury Massardine.

Chriss Eddie Fouejeu Kendio’s resignation comes at a time when Jean-Michel Nintcheu is waiting for Cabral Libii to inform him of the party’s position on supporting Maurice’s candidacy in the next presidential elections.
