The national football championship’s men in black have been on strike since this morning in protest at the lack of payment of their salaries.
“Enough is enough. That is the message we can read on posters. This time the protesters are not college teachers, but football referees. They have not been paid for the past seven months. They are also complaining about the cost of their match bonuses, which amount to 15,000 francs per match, as well as the bonuses for the last two editions of the Cup of Cameroon.
To make their grievances heard, they went to the headquarters of the Central Football League to demand that the Cameroon Football Federation honour its commitments.
