The message can be read in a note issued by Treasury Department of the Ministry of Finance to the President of FECAFOOT.

The letter from the Treasury’s special paymaster is clear. FECAFOOT must repay its cfa F 2.7 billion debt. The case dates back to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Cameroon was taking part for the eighth time in its history. The Cameroon Football Federation was determined to give the Indomitable Lions a better image and preparation, and to bury the old demons and put an end to the ills of the past.

To this end, Cameroon’s football governing body will receive almost cfa F 4 billion from the state, of which 2.7 billion will have to be repaid due to the delay in the expected funding from Fifa.

In a note addressed to the President of FECAFOOT, Samuel Eto’o, the Paymaster General requests the return of the amount granted to the institution.
