For the current month, the Directorate General of Customs expects to collect approximately FCFA 95.2 billion in revenue.

Of the 13 customs sectors available to the Directorate General of Customs, the Littoral I sector is expected to take the lion’s share with FCFA 63.4 billion to be collected. The South II sector comes second with FCFA 21 billion, followed by the Littoral II sector with FCFA 6 billion.

The smallest contribution is expected from the North-West sector with FCFA 40 million, followed by the Adamaoua sector with FCFA 64 million. 65 million FCFA will have to be mobilised by the West Customs sector.

In addition, the Ministry of Finance reports that “between January and June 2023, the General Directorate of Customs (DGD) of the Ministry of Finance mobilised a revenue envelope of 486.4 billion CFAF against an expected collection target of 470.4 billion CFAF, i.e. an overrun of 16 billion CFAF”.

It should be recalled that the Finance Act foresees customs revenues of more than CFAF 1,000 billion in 2023.
