Following the fire disaster at Bamenda’s main market, the servant of God decided to bring moral and spiritual support to the traders.

“His presence brought a sense of joy and comfort,” said a trader of the Bamenda main market. This statement was made after the visit of the Archbishop of Bamenda, His Lordship Andrew Nkea, to the city’s main market last March 12. The market was ravaged by fire last month.

The surprise visit was intended to show solidarity and support to the traders who had seen their goods and shops destroyed by the fire. He took the opportunity during his visit to share a message of courage, hope and faith with the traders, telling them that “no matter what difficulties we encounter, we should remember that God will never abandon his people”. He also encouraged the victims to be strong and have faith in God to recover from this tragic situation, as he blessed the traders.

The recent fire in Bamenda’s main market destroyed at least 300 shops. In support of the victims, several elites and other public figures recently launched a fundraising campaign. More than 43 million CFA francs have already been collected.
