Their kidnapping, attributed to separatists, took place in a school on December 12, 2023, reports The Guardian Post.

Esau Technical High School, located in the Menchum division of the North West region, was attacked last Tuesday, December 12, by gunmen. Many says the latter are separatists’ fighters. They stormed the school as the first lessons of the day were taking place in some classrooms and forced their way into the classrooms where the students were being taught.

The gunmen kidnapped 15 students and the deputy headmaster after brutalising the young students. They left several other students injured at the school, reports the daily gazette The Guardian Post.

Over the past seven years, schools, students and teachers have been attacked by separatists on several occasions. The separatists are trying to force a halt to education in the schools, especially in the state schools.
