Before leaving Cameroon, Buma Pascal Muga was a teacher at Divine Comprehensive College in the North West Region.

It was during a military training exercise that Buma Pascal Muga lost his life. The American media emphasise that he served with honour in the US army. Before his death, he and his wife were awaiting the arrival of their child. He had vowed to return to his family when he left for duty. Buma was living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma State.

While still in Cameroon, Buma had been working as a teacher at the Divine College in Bali, in the North West region.
