Terrorists have killed three people in the Far North region of Cameroon and 10 people in Nigeria, in the Kuchi region of the Niger state.

Between Sunday and Monday, attacks attributed to elements of the armed jihadist group Boko Haram killed 13 people in Cameroon and Nigeria. One of the attacks took place in the Far North region of Cameroon in the town of Gouzda Wayam in the Mayo-Tsanaga division. The attackers struck on the night of 26/27 May 2024. In addition to the dead, they abducted children. The armed forces are searching for the attackers in order to free the hostages.

Elements of the same armed group carried out another attack in the state of Niger, in the western part of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The attack, which took place in the Kuchi area, left 10 people dead. During the same operation, which lasted several hours, local media also reported that 160 people were abducted. The Boko Haram terrorists also set fire to houses and took food from the people they attacked.

Boko Haram has been present in Nigeria since 2000. Since 2015, it has also attacked Cameroon, Chad and Niger. The terrorist group’s repeated attacks in the various states have resulted in thousands of deaths and significant material and financial losses.
