The World Bank (WB) has approved a F CFA 30 Billion loan for the implementation of social projects which targets disadvantaged groups in Cameroon.

According to official sources, F CFA 15 billion was given as grant while the other part of the money was dolled out as loan.

The world bank social nets grant going by the bank is aimed at fighting extreme poverty, especially among refugees and internal displaced persons. The project was initially dedicated to some 2,000 households when it was launched in 2006. Recent statistics however indicate that the project currently has over 84,000 households and covering seven of the country’s ten regions.
