Cameroon and Zambia leave back to back (0-0), in group B of the Women’s Afcon, on July 3 at the Casablanca Stadium.

The first game of the group B of the Women’s Afcon  between Cameroon and Zambia resulted in a scoreless draw, after a game of commitment but low technical level. The Lionesses, under the watchful eye of Samuel Eto’o and Rigobert Song, were considered favourites for this match.
They were at full strength against the Zambians, who were diminished with three major absences including the striker Barbra Banda. The Caf medical service had detected a very high level of testosterone in the latter.

In the first half, the Zambians, despite the domination of Gabriel Zabo’s girls, managed to contain them. They tried but did not manage to find the net.

The Cameroonians came back from the break with the same desire… and the same lack of efficiency. If they dominated the debates on the whole, the Indomitable Lionesses failed where they were most expected: in front of the goal.

While some fans were still wondering how Monique Ngock could have missed the ball for the 1-0, Flora Kameni added to this series of failures, a wasted action in front of the net of a Nazi Hazel although beaten .

Nchout Njoya Ajara’s shot from the next opportunity was harmless. The Inter Milan player finally thought she was the great heroine of her country, but her late goal was disallowed for a logical offside.

The Zambians were laborious, defending in blocks and with defensive aggression. The draw is therefore deserved. It should be noted that the Senegalese referee Aissata of the game, victim of thigh cramps, could not lead the match to its end and had to be replaced. The lionesses hope to score a number of goals during their upcoming match againt Togo.
