The U.S. Ambassador to Cameroon, His Excellency Peter Henry Barlerin has presented a letter of congratulations from President Donald Trump to his Cameroonian counterpart, President Paul BIYA ahead of the 46th National Day.
Ambassador Peter Barlerin presented the letter during an audience at the Unity Palace on Thursday 17 May 2018.
Both personalities discussed on a variety of issues linked to the longstanding and excellent Cameroon – U.S. cooperation.
Speaking to the press after the meeting, Ambassador Peter Henry Barlerin said they talked about the “Good cooperation we have in the fight against Boko Haram and the Islamic State in the Far North”.
The U.S. Diplomat appreciated the fact that the Government of Cameroon takes human rights violations seriously. He equally expressed admiration for the efforts taken by the government with respect to working with the Red Cross and the training of military personnel in human rights.
