The Minister of Transport Jean Ernest Massena Ngalle Bibehe is paying a working visit at the Ports Authority of Douala-Bonaberi to take stock of the ongoing modernization projects undertaken by the management.
Since his appointment as Transport Minister on March 2, Ngalle Bibehe has been taking tours in structures under his ministry amongst which the Ports Authority of Douala is one.
The Minister will have the opportunity to see for himself first hand the various structural projects underway which upon completion will improve on the port’s performance, make it attractive and competitive.
Amongst such projects initiated by the new managed under General Manager Cyru Ngo’o are; the rebuilding of oil wharfs, the construction of a 2,500-ml road network downstream at the Douala Port zone (from TRANSIMEX to MIRA).
The rehabilitation of access roads to the port, the construction of new and modern warehouses, the construction of an access way at the wood terminals are equally part of the vast projects underway which the Minister will see for himself.
This visit comes just under three weeks after the Ports Authority of Douala embarked on a wreck removal operation aimed at clearing the Douala seaport of shipwreck will pave the way for a free flow of maritime activities, provide more business space for the Douala Ports Authority.
