Three Cameroonians have been apprehended in Fez, the second largest city in Morocco. It is alleged the men who were arrested over the weekend were involved in robbery and voluntary homicide.
According to the le360.ma wesite, which quotes a communiqué from the Directorate-General for National Security (DGSN), the police authorities arrested one of the suspectss in flagrante delicto following a tip off. The said suspected was caught in possession of a bag containing a knife, a blunt object, mobile phones and tablets, supposedly from robbery operations in three shops in a supermarket in Fez.
An on-site investigation led to the discovery of the supermarket’s night watchman, tied up and strangled with a piece of tissue inserted in his mouth. The police statement noted that the security guard died before arriving at hospital.
Futher investigations led to the arrest of two other suspects at a bus station in the same city. It is reported they were about to leave the city. The body of the night guard was transferred to the morgue for autopsy, while the arrested suspects were held in police custody for further investigations.
