The impact of digital technology on the process of democratization in Cameroon will be the be main focus of a panel discussion organised by the Denis and Lenora Foretia Foundation in Yaounde.
This event organised by the Nkafu Policy Institute of the Denis and Lenora Foretia Foundation will take place on Tuesday, April 30th, at the Foundation’s headquarters in Yaoundé. Its has as objective to critically analyze the effects and challenges of digital and electronic communications on democratic governance in Cameroon.
The Denis and Lenora Foretia Foundation says it will address issues related to the evolution of Cameroonian democracy since the advent and intensification of digital and electronic communications and their transformation of political practice.
This event is in line with the research concerns of the Nkafu Policy Institute, which is to create platforms for academics and policy-makers to engage and promote a culture of democratic values that allows Africans identify and effectively address the governance issues facing their continent.
Engagement on these issues will provide academics, policymakers and activists with a tool for reforming political and electoral practices to deepen democracy in the country, the Foundation said.
