Six Cameroonians have been nominated for the Confederation of African Football annual Awards scheduled to take place on January 9, 2019 in Dakar, Senegal.

Despite finishing third at the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, members of the Indomitable lionesses were nominated for the awards.

Forwards Gabrielle Adoudi Onguene, Gaelle Enganamouit and midfielder Raissa Feudjio will be gunning for the prize of Best African player in the women’s category.

Their head coach Joseph Brian Ndoko has been nominated for the coach of the year award in the women’s category. He will be up against Thomas Dennerby (Nigeria) and Désirée Ellis (South Africa).

The Indomitable Lionesses have also been nominated in the Team of the Year category.

In the men’s category, Franck Kom has been nominated for the men’s player of the year award after winning the African Champions League with Esperance de Tunis.

On his part, Ajax Amsterdam goalkeeper Andre Onana has been nominated in the Young Player of the Year category. The Confederation of African Football will wind down the list in the various categories before the awards on January 9.
