The late regent of South Africa’s Zulu nation, Queen Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu was laid to rest during a private ceremony in the early hours of Thursday morning.The queen passed away last week at a Johannesburg, just over a month after she became regent of the Zulu nation until a successor is found following the death of her husband, King Goodwill Zwelithini, in March.

The private ceremony was attended by members of the Zulu and Swati royal families.

The late queen, 65, was the sister of eSwatini’s King Mswati III.

She was the third of the six wives of King Zwelithini who died of diabetes-related complications on March 12 at the age of 72.
