New movie

A mirror of societal ills amongst which bribery and corruption is an aspect the producer, Awonkeh Alfredo, portrays in this piece of arts.

It is a short story with an African setting centers on a main character Adolf, husband to Sera and office boss to Nelson and Johnson.

The storyline of The boss presents Adolf as the head of a public establishment who has turned his office into a private business and not only known for his pleasure in indirect illegal affairs.

He is also known for personal interest in influencing his subordinates. The movie ‘The Boss’ is the author’s modest contribution to raising public in Cameroon. The producer does not fail to condemn lack of social security , mediocrity in public offices and abuse of power trusted on civil servants.

Adolf in that movie is not only a ‘bad egg’ in the office but also uses his influence over his collaborator’s wife.

The climax of the movie shows Adolf’s collaborators who tries to put him in line with justice but « the boss » says “We who are wise are above the law. Only fools my lost their jobs and even go to prison . The only law I can nor break is the unmade one”.

The end of the story puts Adolf in the hands of the police and punished according to the law. Shot in the city of Douala , the producer Awonkeh Alfredo says although the film is narrated in a humorous manner , it reveals a true story of our society.
