Elisabeth Medou Badang, Chief Executive Officer of Orange Cameroon has announced that she will be leaving her CEO position in the country in the days ahead.

The Orange Cameroon boss took her to her twitter page on February 10, detailing her passion for her work where she stated that “for the last four years and some months, the executive committee and the whole staff’s trust and devotion have been her greatest asset”.

Elisabeth Medou Badang, it should be recalled officially took office at Orange Cameroon on December 2, 2013. Before her appointment to Cameroon, she was the chief executive Officer of Orange Botswana since 2010 as well as the assistant general manager of Orange Cameroon. She is a former executive of Proparco, a subsidiary of the French development agency (AFD). She joined Orange in 1999 when it was still Mobilis.

Medou’s resignation comes at the time when many Cameroonians are awash with telecom’s constant network disruptions in Cameroons English speaking regions. In their defense, many telecom employees say they face pressure challenges from the government, sometimes at gun point in Cameroon, when they refuse disrupting network. Going by various telecoms employee report, most of their colleagues have been jailed for not complying to government’s bidding.
