The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Jean Claude Mbwentchou has expressed dissatisfaction with the various ongoing housing projects presently taking place in the Olembe neighborhood in Yaounde.

He expressed his worries recently during the New Year wishes ceremony in his ministry. Reports say not up to 100 out of the 1500 housing projects that were assigned to the Chinese cooperation have not be completed despite the fact that the dateline has far past as signed on the contract.

During New Year wishes ceremony, most of the panelist who took part in debates, criticized the Chinese construction company but equally laid emphasis on the inadequacy of financing for the project amongst others. In an elaborated speech by the minister, it was also disclosed that, the construction of the Yaounde- Nsimalen high way among other construction projects programmed to be completed in 2018 are still far behind deadlines.

In a strict tone, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development called on all the companies involved in these projects in one way or the other, to be more effective.
