Mohammed Babangida, the son of Nigeria’s military ruler Ibrahim Babangida has survived a fatal road accidents which claimed the lives of three soldiers, APA learnt on Wednesday.The ex president’s son was on a Honda Space bus which was on its way to Abuja from Babaginda’s home city of Minna when his security vehicle which was in front rammed into a truck heading in the opposition direction.

The articulated truck was laden with tomatoes.

Mohammed Babangida was in the company of other family members who appeared unhurt, witnesses said. 

His three soldier escorts who were in the advanced Prado SUV died on the spot.

A fourth soldier is said to be critically injured and is being treated at the National Hospital in Abuja. 

Mohammed Babangida’s father ruled Nigeria between 1985 and 1993.
