A soldier was killed in attack carried out around locality of Furu Awa in the North West Region of Cameroon, local sources have said.

The soldier was killed while on patrol with his colleague in the locality following an upsurge of violence in the region where security forces have been battling separatist fighters. The killing comes after a police officer was abducted in Fundong, still in the North West region and taken to an unknown destination.
