Councillors across the nation are going to the polls today to elect Senators that will represent them at the Senate for the next five years.

Nine political parties are taking part in the Senatorial elections that take place today which is the first of four elections that will hold in Cameroon this year. The ruling party, the Cameroon Peoples Democratic Party CPDM and the National Union for Democracy and Progress NUDP are the only parties to present lists in all ten regions. The main opposition party has presented lists in five of the ten regions
