Countries of the Congo Basin have taken a unanimous decision to prohibit the exportation of Timber by January 2022.

The decision was taken during a video conference of Ministers of Forestry, Industries and Environment of the central African Sub region under the chairmanship of Cameroon’s Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Jules Doret Ndongo.

To support the measure, the different Ministers have decided that a special economic zone will be created for primary, secondary and tertiary wood processing industries.
