Nigeria’s Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun has assured Nigerians that the capital budget of the Federal Government will not be diverted to fund the 2019 polls and that it will be strictly deployed to fund infrastructural projects across the country.Reacting to the insinuation that the capital budget could be used for funding the 2019 general elections, Adeosun said that the present administration would not engage in the diversion of the capital project funds for the forthcoming elections.

“The administration remains committed to infrastructure spending at the high levels of the past two years and the completion of major ongoing projects,” a statement on Sunday in Abuja by Oluyinka Akintunde, the Special Adviser, Media and Communications to the minister, quoted the minister as saying.
