Stakeholders who are members of the National Book Commission met in Yaounde on, 30th January 2019.
The two-day meeting was organised to discuss the new curricular for primary and secondary schools in Cameroon.
Chaired by the Minister of Secondary Education , Prof. Nalova Lyonga, the conclave also discussed the conformity of certified textbooks in relation to prescriptions on the new curricular.
National Book Commission: The new curricular
The new curricular in primary and secondary schools were drawn up in accordance with the growing needs of learners.
Stakeholders affirm that, in designing the curricular, emphasis was laid on the need to improve competence, ignite creativity and autonomy in children.
The curricular was also designed to conform to government’s one textbook policy.
The Textbook commission was instituted by a Prime Ministerial order on 23rd November 2017.
