Marcel Niat Njifenji has been re-elected President of the Senate for a second five-year mandate in the new legislature.

Senator Marcel Niat Njifenji who stood unopposed won 89 of the 96 ballots and immediately took over from the eldest member of the Senate Victor Mukete who had been chairing the Senate since the beginning of the session.
