Kenya will on Monday host a regional conference bringing together legal practitioners drawn from the East African countries, to discuss obstacles that limit access to justice within the region.
The conference brings together judges and magistrates, representatives of the ministries of justice and legal aid providers from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi, together with experts and practitioners from Somalia, Sudan, Malawi, South Africa and Zambia.
International Development Law Organization representatives from the headquarters in Hague will also attend the conference.
The conference will discuss strategies to improve access to justice, and increase linkages between national judiciaries and the East African Court of Justice.
