The first session of the 2019 Youth Parliament held this Friday, 8th February 2019.

This meeting is a tradition put in place following Article 11, paragraph 2(a) of the African Youth Charter, which stipulates that nations commit themselves to “Guarantee the access of young people to the Parliament and at all levels of decision-making in accordance with the laws”.

The theme for reflection of the Parliamentary Session was, “Entrepreneurship Development and Youth Employment Opportunities”.

During deliberations at the National Assembly, Young Parliamentatians get a chance to ask questions to Ministers on specific topics regarding their welfare.
