Today Wednesday August 21, 2019 marks thirty three years after a limnic eruption at Lake Nyos in the North West region of Cameroon killed 1.746 people and over 3.500 livestock according to official reports. The eruption was reported to have triggered the sudden release of about 100,000–300,000 tons of carbondioxide.
