Cameroon’s Minister of Sports and Physical education Prof Narcisse Mouelle Kombi this week received in audience Jean Matip, the father to Cameroonian International footballer Joel Matip who plays club football with Liverpool.

According to reports, Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi wishes to see the former defence player Joel Matip come back to the national team ahead of the upcoming 2021 African Cup of Nations to be hosted by Cameroon.

Joel Matip was part of the national team during their 2017 AFCON campaign in Gabon but after allegedly having some misunderstandings with one of his teammates, he decided to quit the selection and have since then refused to play with the indomitable lions.
