Roger Mbassa Ndine of the CPDM party has been elected pioneer city Mayor of the town of Douala in the Littoral region of Cameroon.

He was voted this Wednesday evening after a city council election that dragged from yesterday to this evening amid lack of concesus amongst councillors.

Roger Mbassa Ndine got one hundred and thirty-five votes against twenty-five for his lone contestant, Jean Jacques Ekindi. Sources say there were seven empty ballot boxes.
