The National Assembly has adopted the bill on the decentralisation code in Cameroon defended by the Minister of Decentralisation and local development, Georges Elanga Obam.

The piece of legislation that seeks to deepen the decentralisation process in Cameroon was adopted yesterday at the end of a plenary sitting chaired by house speaker Cavaye Yeguie Djibril.

According to some parliamentarians, the adoption of the bill is historic and will favour the initiation of development from the base.
