Proprietors of lay private schools in the West region of Cameroon has been asked to be transparent in the management of subvention and pay their techers to ensure a smooth end of the academic year amid the deadly Coronavirus pandemic that is crippling the economies of many homes.
Speaking to the press Wednesday June 17 in Bafoussam, the education secretary of lay private institutions said proprietors of primary and nursery schools in the region are currently receiving the money in his office while those of secondary shools are paid directly into their different accounts.
He disclosed that the Government has disbursed the sum of FCFA 11 million for schools in priority zones, 3million for the lone-specialized ones, 75million for private nursery schools and 91 million for primary institutions.
He added that proprietors of private colleges have benefitted the sum of 113 million while those of training colleges, 84 million.
