Five members of the Cameroon armed forces are said to have been gunned down in an armed confrontation with suspected separatist fighters in Manyu, South West region of Cameroon.

Unofficial reports say they were killed after the Mayor of Eyumojock, a locality in the Manyu Division organised a football cup using it to call for a return to normalcy.

The Government is yet to comment on the incident.
