The 21st session of the National Labour Advisory Board is underway in Yaounde with focus on the bill on the labour code in Cameroon and the draft decree on the general conditions of employment, occupational classification, and minimum wages of domestic workers.

According to reports, the come together seeks to correct the difficulties observed in the application of some provisions of the Labour code in place plus its adaptation with recommended international labour norms.

In previous sessions, the board had made proposals that led to the signing of two bills in 2016 on the increase in family allowances paid to workers and the establishment of social security contribution rates and remuneration allowances as well as old age, disability and death pension.
