Cameroon’s President Paul Biya has offered 50 brand new cars to administrative authorities in the country’s ten regions.
The brand new Toyota vehicles, received by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji will facilitate the work of the administrative authorities reports hold.
While handing the first keys to the Governor of the South-West region, Bernard Okalia Bilai, Minister Paul Atanga Nji said the gift is sign of appreciation for all their hard work in the regions, especially during the just ended Presidential elections. To him, the new vehicles will contribute to the safety and speed of work of administrative authorities.
For his part, Governor Okalia Bilai said the gifts are very timely. He revealed that with the ongoing crisis, the Senior Divisional officer for Buea’s doesn’t have a vehicle currently because his vehicle was destroyed by terrorist on election day (October 7). “This is a similar situation for the Divisional officer of Dikome-Balue in the Ndian Division and that of Wabane in the Lebialem Division, Okalia Bilai added.
Minister Atanga Nji will in the days ahead visit other regions of Cameroon to handover the cars.
