The city of Bamenda got up to a timid and tiring morning on Thursday after gunshots on Wednesday in parts of the town sending it into a lockdown.

Sources say there were heavy gunshots around Azire New Church, Meta Quarters, Commercial Avenue and Hospital Roundabout, sending which forced residents to shut down business and flee to their homes for safety. It is not clear if there was any major casualty.
