Cameroonian minister of livestock, fisheries and animal industries Dr Taiga (photo) said local breeders have a strong propensity to use antibiotics in animal feed. This was during a forum organized December 11 by the department in Yaoundé.

This practice, Mr. Taiga said, develops antimicrobial resistance in animals, thus exposing them to diseases that can kill entire herds.
