The World Association of Kickboxing Organisations (WAKO) have confirmed that the African Kickboxing Championships have been postponed until later this month.

The competition had been set to take place at the Palais des sports de Yaoundé in the Cameroonian capital, from March 19 to 24.

It has now been moved to between April 23 and 28 as the previous dates were deemed to be too close to political elections in the country.

In an open letter, President of the African Kickboxing Confederation Emmanuel Essissima said it was a great honour to be hosting the tournament.
