The African Volleyball Confederation have for the first time introduced the use of the Video Challenge System in the ongoing 2020 female Tokyo Olympics qualifying games in Cameroon.

The technology which can only be applied during televised matches allows players and coaches to contest decisions called or not called by the referee by requesting a video replay of a particular action on the giant screen.

It was tested yesterday at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex during the first two matches of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic qualifyers for female volleyball teams which opposed Cameroon to Botswana and Kenya to Egypt.
