Parts of the Mungo Division in the Littoral region of Cameroon has been in the dark for a week now following heavy rains that have caused damages on the electrical circuit, local sources say.

Parts of Mbanga stretching to Njombe, Loum and Penja have been have been in total blackout as the rain brought down electrical poles while a transformer is also set to have caught fire.

Over half a dozen poles have fallen as residents say they have alerted the National Electricity supply company Eneo who are yet to react.

The lack of electricity has had far reaching effects on most pupils and students in the area prepare for end of year examinations, locals say.

The heavy rains that fell in these parts of the country last week also had other adverse effects as roof tops were pull off from houses by wind while crops were equally destroyed in farms.
