Benjamin Moukandjo, Indomitable lions captain is confident Cameroon will beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking to FIFA official website, the captain said his team mates have quality as seen during the confederations cup.  “We showed that we’ve got quality, but obviously, we’ve still got work to do if we’re going to trouble the big boys”. It should be recalled that Cameroon lost to Chile and Germany and got a draw against Australia all in the Group Stage of the FIFA Confederations cup.

Moukandjo however thinks, the confederation’s cup experience proves it is a young team that’s only just getting acquainted with international competitions. “We’ve now got a better idea of where we stand, which will help us come back stronger next year and target the World Cup with a lot more going for us,” he said

Cameroon and Nigeria face off in a doubleheader in August/September for the top spot in Group B of African qualifiers.

Cameroon are second in the group after two games with two points while Nigeria top with six points.
