Cameroon’s Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform, Joseph Le, has said managing the career of more than two hundred and forty thousand (240.000) civil servants and State employees, from the beginning till the end, is an arduous and delicate task.

He made the remark at an inaugural press briefing in Yaounde recently, in the presence state officials, trade unionists and human rights activists.

Conscious of the delicate task, Minister Joseph Le said he will strive, every day, with the help of his collaborators, without exception, to fulfill the delicate mission.

He revealed that, as at now, 37 out of 39 ministries are henceforth connected to the server, 37 out of 39 ministries have the SIGIPES, 22 out of 39 ministries have their various personnel databases updated and operations to update personnel card index in the other 17 ministries are under process. The Public Service boss also revealed that the main objective is to remove users from the twisty processing chain of  files by reviewing the existing legal framework with major innovations, such as the cancellation of mark sheets for State employees in the way they were done before.

To him, the ambition of the reform is to enable ministries to make an annual forecast of advancements and retirements of their staff.
